The arts can play a powerful role in the lives of people with and without disabilities. A basic principle of Ability Arts is that regardless of physical or mental disability, the human need to create and communicate through artistic forms of expression should not be limited.

Ability Arts provides learning opportunities in the arts for children, youth and adults with disabilities throughout Missouri. This is our mission. In collaboration with other arts and human service organizations, programs and performances are offered in creative writing, dance, drama, music and the visual arts, often in inclusive settings for persons with and without disabilities. Our programs help to foster independence and self-worth. Each year, Ability Arts serves more than 2,500 individuals.
